FTP doesn't automatically send the contents of sub-folders (unless anyone knows otherwise) you would have to know the names of each subdirectory and specifically send the contents of that dir too... E...

CS-RCS Basic is a good freebie if your familiar with Sourcesafe and no fussed with multiuser access. The software just works out of the box I found. Subversion is better and I do like it after switch...

Hi Andy We used to use Perforce, which you'd be able to use for free although it's not open source. At the moment we use Subversion with TortoiseSVN, though we'll be moving to VSTS when it comes out...
