Hi Lisa
I think a lot of web developers like Linux because its cheaper, faster
and less exploited (simply because hackers like to target the Gates
Empire). If your developer is using PHP and MySQL then Linux is a
slightly better option for compatibility as well as speed, but there
isn't too much in it.
If you were looking for somewhere to host from scratch, then Linux
might well be the better option. On the other hand, if you already
have a windows hosting package that supports the language and database
you are using then why change it?
If you have a developer who insists on a Linux setup (or Windows setup
for that matter), despite the fact that the solution could be done on
either, then find another developer!
