I think AOL use SPF records (in the DNS for the sending domain) to

You're right! Was hoping it was just because I was in firefox 1.0.4

Two ways that I know off.
Server side code that requires refresh of page or, a client side JavaScript
Array which requires rewriting of the dropdown when the selection is made.
