flash video 90+% desktop penetration
progressive download streaming off of any standard webspace
the new flash 8 on2 codec halfs bandwidth required for the same
quality, but is very new so isn't widley distributed yet.
If you require true random access streaming, you need flash media
server (expensive if you need a lot of simultaneous streams, but does
do server side recording, conferencing etc) at least until the near
future when hopefully the guys that recently invented a cunning
php/flv streaming system go open source..
