Hi Chris,
I have to say I do like some of the pictures on that site. Not sure the big
blank background does much for the aesthetics of the pages, and the text is
a little bland in style in my opinion, also the red floating text is a
little jarring on the eyes, and does not seem to reflect the gentle mood of
the animation of the words. I am not a coding expert in any way, so no
comment on the actual 'build', but from a visual appeal point of view there
is some nice stuff, perhaps just needs a slightly more sympathetic treatment
in parts to add some cohesion between the elements may be worth playing
with.
Final point, I am not a huge fan of 'obscure' page links which need
explaining as to where to click etc, it does interrupt the flow a little.
On a general note, in light of all the pretty negative posts flying about. I
think most folk here have their own areas of expertise, and if sharing their
knowledge is not what they joined for then fair enough, but when
constructive critisism and comment is sought, its a shame that some people
degerate the thread into a pissing contest, just the same as asking for a
constructive crit does not automatically mean everyone will say its great.
It has long been my personal view that looking at websites is very much like
looking at a piece of art, it can be admired for its construction, creative
expression, functionality etc etc, but one aesthetic will never please
everyone, and at the end of the day we all work for 'the public' and if they
will gravatate towards their own preferences in regard to all the above
points and some!
The world would be a very dull place if we all did the samething!
