Hi Max
The site works - thats good.
The problem comes in with the colour choices and the use of images. If
you are going to use orange I think your other colours need to be
stronger. The Orange site is an ok example of black & orange working
together, but this is much more striking: http://dark-i.com/default.aspx
. Try using some strong greens and/or blues too.
As for the images, lets face it speakers are boring. There are ways of
improving things however, such as

perspective http://www.makezine.com/blog/sonic1.jpg
