Re: FN-FORUM: FTP connections

Thanks for the replies guys!
>>>Glad to hear the publishing industry is finally growing up and moving
away from bloody ISDN, which used to be a right pain when I was sending
files to publishers.>>>
I know Paul - it's the release of Stingray FTS by Hermstedt that's really
made a difference. I've always tried to learn a little bit about FTP and
Internet technologies but am continually told by my colleagues in the
publishing/print industry that I don't need to know anything other than does
it work or not and am wasting my time (not meaning to stereotype but...).
Even when the FTS arrives and is installed I'm still going to try and learn
a little bit about what happens under the bonnet;)
Graeme - I'm going to find this out - didn't even know a passive/active
issue was in existence until now!
Lucy - can't use this as customers demand that their files are retrieved
from FTP sites and ISDN etc, will use it for personal transmissions though!
Adam - thanks for the links, I've had a look at Filezilla m8 and am going to
have a look at the OS X client which I'm very interested in as an interim
solution.
Thanks for all your help guys! Hope I can be of help on the print related
front sometime;)
Cheers
Rob
