I'd echo that.
The most important thing is to think about how you are going to get
work. Are going to rely on a website? Phone people? Print some
flyers? Networking?
If you're relying on word of mouth will this supply enough clients to
fill your week with work?
Before you leave your job take a 3 days holiday and try getting some
new clients. If you're not getting any then perhaps you need to
think whether your approach is right.
Build up a client list while your working - with the aim of going
part time or leaving within 12-18 months. Only leave your job when
you're getting enough work to pay the mortgage - not before.
