Worldpay is very reliable but expensive.

Nochex - www.nochex.com - is a UK company that operates
rather like paypal - but payers do not need an account.
The fees taken by Nochex are the lowest I know of.
They can accept debit and credit cards and provide a
good callback mechanism for transaction result determination.
