What do you mean ?
1) Do you want the status to be shown as soon as you register it ?
2) Do you want to check the status of the domain before trying to buy it ?

(1) - a small doesn't matter since it has to go to the UK nic (or whoever)
to be registered.

(2) - DON'T use a registration company to check - they may well register it once
they see some interest in it & then charge you lots to buy it. Use 'whois'
to check if it exists.
