thanks again for the valuable comments... made some amends that
HOPEFULLY have fixed the table structure on home page:

out on IE... again with comments about accessibility etc - yeah in an
ideal world I'd love to have coded this nice n clean - it's a quicky to
get some content up there... PLUS PCs/browsers do not anti alias text
as well as MAC therefore the text DOES become less clear.. on all the
usual suspects here on MAC platform all the text is small yet nice and
sharp... and tbh the target audience for this site will be mostly
MAC... ;-) no wars please!
