I use hotspots all the time where I can. Cost can vary, but you can get =
a
monthly card from BT. I generally use BTOPenzone and Swisscom. 1 hour is
approx. =A35, and goes up quite dramatically. You need to view the =
wireless
networks then connect. You just open a web browser session and the log =
in
with your id and number. The alternative is 3G, but seeing as 3G doesn't
work in all areas this is the best way I have found.
If you need a cheap laptop, then a colleague of mine will sell you a
notebook with 3G for =A3150. Not sure of the details. If you want =
further
info, mail me off list. This guy has been shifting a lot these notebooks
under this deal.

Subject: FN-FORUM: Out on the road internet access.
I'm going to be travelling around the UK for a couple of weeks and am
thinking of getting a cheap laptop and some sort of wireless access so I =
can
access email and my clients control panels and can carry on providing =
some
sort of support.
Has anyone any experience of using wireless hotspots at service stations =
,
hotels etc provided by btopenzone, t-mobile, eurospot or any other =
provider.
Are they reliable ? I'll only need access for about an hour a day.
Thanks in advance.
Steve
