You have to appeal in terms of value rather than money. Anyone can play
with Photoshop or create web pages. Not everyone knows how to do these
things well, quickly, or reliably. Experience is extremely valuable.

If you charge everything by the hour then you get paid less as you get
more skilled and quicker at doing things. If you allow charges to vary
depending on what the customer can afford then you get more work and more
cash (compared with charging a fixed fee which is too much, or too cheap,
for some customers).
