To set up SBS, just follow the wizards. I think you are going to be
reinstalling this one. ;-)
Do NOT NOT NOT NOT use anything but the SBS server for DHCP Most routers
can't set the correct DHCP scope options, so disable DHCP on your router so
SBS can do it. You CANNOT use SBS in workgroup (peer-to-peer) mode - what is
the point of spending money on a server OS, if you want a PC? The SBS server
must be the root of the AD forest and hold all the FSMO roles and it is much
easier if it is also the DNS server (if you just follow the wizard, it just
works). A Domain controller must have a FIXED IP ADDRESS - ideally you
should have two network cards, so it goes router - server nic 1 - server nic
2 - switch - PCs and if you have premium, you 'll also get ISA 2004 as your
firewall. You can't run terminal services on SBS 2003 in application mode.
You get two licences for admin mode. SBS by default has remote web workplace
which does everything you could want for remote access.
GO and sign up at www.smallbizserver.net and also buy Harry Brelsford's
books on how to setup and run SBS 2003 (www.smbnation.com)
