Many thanks to everyone for their suggestions, wikipedia was definitely the
place to go.

As it happens (and as is always the case) the client has now changed their
minds on what they actually want, but at least I have this now for future
use - just got to remember where I store it lol.

A while I ago I did this as sql. Can export as mysql dump or csv.
