If you mean "resize a marquee image" - then press m for marquee, and select an area press v move/scale/rotate the area (once you've clicked on the border, or transformed it once, you can right-click...

Make sure your date formats are correct, mySQL is very picky (yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss) Also not a good thing to use request() statements directly in an SQL statement, can be used for SQL injection hacks...
