FN-FORUM: drupal technical question
date posted 16th January 2007 12:36
hi,
i'm using drupal for a new community site i'm setting up. first time i've
done this sort of thing, but it's going very well so far.
question: i am hoping to utilise the newsletter functionality to push email
content to subscribers. this is all ok, apart from one thing.
the site itself is a 'closed community' - members need to be signed up and
approved by admin to access the site. however, i also have a signup 'block'
on the anonymous user frontpage for the newsletter, hoping to allow
non-members to also sign up for the newsletter. i.e. they can't access the
full site, but will receive emails.
this is fine, but the only thing is when a non-member enters their email
address into the newsletter signup 'block' and submits, they then receive a
confirmation email with a link to 'confirm subscription'. this link doesn't
work because it obviously gives them a 'access denied' message, as it's
within the main website content.
is there a way around this - i.e. to allow non-members into a couple of
specific 'nodes' or 'pages' to allow the email confirmation to work, but not
give them access to the main site content?
btw, it's v4.7.4 i think, NOT v5.
cheers
