RE: FN-FORUM: Is it possible to host a website on two servers as a backup?

Duncan, I am trialling a web-resilient service called Uptime365
www.zullatec.com
It automatically switches over to one of a number of mirror servers =
whenever
the host
is down (also protecting from Denial of Service attacks), automatically=20
keeping the mirrors up to date.
We haven=92t settled the price but it should be < =A350 / month.=20
Key question: is the site processing real time transactions because at =
the
moment the product only updates the mirrors daily (a future release will =
automatically update the mirrors each time a transaction occurs).
Would you and your client like to install the beta version?

Subject: FN-FORUM: Is it possible to host a website on two servers as a
backup?
Good Afternoon,
A client of mine (with 1and1) has had major downtime, and is now
asking me whether its possible to host the site elsewhere as well, and
set up a system whereby if the site does go down, we can have it
point (using the same domain name) to the other hosting.
I would have thought not, given that where a domain name points to is
defined by the namesevers...
Many thanks,
Duncan
