I know Web Wiz Forums - www.webwizforums.com utilises a feature where you
can choose to create user accounts automatically by using session variables.
For example, first you setup the forum not to accept new user registration.
Then, you specify a couple of session variables when logging users to your
system containing their username and password.

Once the user visits the forum pages, an account will be created for them
and logged them to the forum.
