I replied to you before. You need two network cards if you want to
terminate the VPN on the SBS as opposed to on the router. End of story.
I even sent you all the links.
Put in another NIC and follow the wizard, it will set up RRAS etc for
you. Just enable PPTP (or VPN passthrough on your router and forward
port 1723 to the SBS). I even posted all the ports for everything in
SBS. Have a look back through the forum archives.
Do not understand this statement " These all map the IP address of the
machine that I'm trying to VPN from to the SBS2003 server on
192.168.0.2"
Makes no sense. It doesn't matter where you are VPNing in from. Your
client PC needs to know the external IP of the router (Need a different
subnet at each end.)
If you have one NIC, you must terminate the VPN at the router, so read
the router manual, they are all different. It'll probaly be IPSEC with
IKE (very few routers do PPTP successfully), so you need to set up the
client end to match. The Green Bow is a nice client if your router does
not come with one.

Subject: FN-FORUM: SBS2003 VPN Setup (again as no response)
Hi,
I'm having trouble setting up a VPN connection for SBS2003 Standard
Edition.
I've got a Netgear Router and I've opened the following services;
VPN-IPSEC, VPN-L2TP and VPN-PPTP. These all map the IP address of the
machine that I'm trying to VPN from to the SBS2003 server on 192.168.0.2
My internal network has fixed IP addresses
I've only got one network card in the server (on 192.168.0.2)
I just need the VPN to allow me to authenticate against my standard user
account and to give out a fixed IP address as if I'm on the network.
I'll then work out about OWA later !
This is in readiness for me implementing the same system at a client as
one of their staff is moving and going to be working from home. The
short-term solution is to let them use terminal services but they're
intending to get them a laptop to run their accounting (Sage Line 50)
over the network.
Cheers
Andy
