Move it to UK hosting, that's the best way. I've got .com's that rank
well in Google UK because they're hosted over here. All the .com and
.org domains I've dealt with which were hosted in the States and
wanted to rank well in Google UK have found the most straightforward
way is just to move the site to a UK server. Trying to convince the
search engines you're a UK site with a non-location dependent TLD is
hit-and-miss when you're hosted abroad.
Hmm... you could try verifying your site with Google Maps, presuming
it has some sort of address you can link it to (i.e. an organiser's
house.) That might have the side benefit of making them realise it's a
UK site. That's just a thought though, it's not tested or anything.
