RE: FN-FORUM: Quark XPress, Graphic design
date posted 8th February 2007 11:47
Hi,
Quarkxpress has always been the industry standard layout tool for
designers. Whether you're designing posters, leaflets, brochures, packaging,
magazines, catalogues, any form of document that involves a considerable
amount of text, you need to use Quark. Basically let's say you're designing
a brochure. You would manipulate any images you need to use in Photoshop, so
if you need to convert a pdf to an eps to import into Quark to incorporate
into the design, or if you need to convert a colour image to greyscale you
do that in Photoshop first.
Any logo's, graphs or illustrations you want to use within the document do
in Illustrator. Save as an Illustrator.eps file then import into Quark.
Basically never use Illustrator or photoshop to lay out documents. Quark and
InDesign are created specifically for bringing these elements together in a
tight format and in a way that gives you far more control over typography.
Any other questions regarding quark just ask.
Regards
Marc
