This might be a similar problem to one I had:
I was using relative positioning and IE & FF seemed to place relative
to something different. Apparently IE had the original position as
centred whereas FF assumed the original position was on the left.
I loaded a different CSS file depending on the browser. You can see it
in action at http://www.hotelcaledoniamovie.com/ if you take a look at
the source in each browser you'll see there's a different CSS file.
Of course I might just be patching a more basic problem but I couldn't
be bothered to experiment further because it had been driving me mad.
