Hi DG,
You need to forward ports on your router/modem. If you are connected
via USB cable to modem you should have direct ports. If you are
connected via wireless of Ethernet try to access your router's admin
via typing any of these into your browser:
http://192.168.0.1
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.1.254
If you want to play online game you don't need static IP, however if
want to host a game server on your computer, static IP would be useful
although for example mine IP address is dynamic and it has not changed
since I got my broadband (with Be*).
