If that's true - then why are half the drivers I'm using MS ones?
Your reasons are fair enough - but are totally different to my
requirements. I don't care about the registry ( i haven't used regedit
since September), I don't care about old hardware (my loft is full of
it), I too laugh in the face of viruses (I've never installed a virus
checker and have NEVER had a virus). I have VNC on my machine and a
Virtual Machine running linux for local dev work.
As for licencing - you do have a point there. However, It took me 6
hours to get all thee monitors working at their naitive resolution on
Linux. If I'd have spent that time working instead (vista configured all
three monitors and g/cards instantly btw), I'd have earnt enough to buy
two windows licences and a cofee :)
Sometimes these things can prove to be a false economy.
