I think the issue is more that most Flex apps are never going to use FDS
as it is the one server component that is phenomally expensive. Most
will be doing Ajax style interaction with the server. If somebody needs
realtime it is likely to be in Finance and they can afford 10k a licence.
Be aware that Adobe Coldfusion has a number of hooks inside it to make
server client interactions easier but this isn't FDS. FDS is about
pushing data to the client, data integrity (multiple people editing the
same data at the same time and submitting updates simultanouesly etc.)
