Hi James,
Richard's right - it will make a difference. Browsers don't render text
uniformally across the board in any case; Konqueror is no exception - check

I believe that Konqueror has a problem if you use 'position' with
'top/bottom' or 'left/right' missing. Other browsers assume zero for the
missing property, but Konqueror doesn't seem to.

Thanks for all of your feedback, I found it useful. the general consensus
seems to be that I should try to improve the contrast between the text and
image, so I'll give that a whirl over the next coup...
