My dad has done a load of work on mapping out our area for cyclists,
marking the rideability of pretty much every bridleway in the county.
His routes are now being published by the Local Authority- they hold the
definitive county map so they can give permission for that to be used.
Works well in one county, maybe less so across the whole country...
