I demand that Ben Johnson (Neogic) F [EMAIL REMOVED] may (or may not) have written:

Personally I'd never put a comma after them, and never have in 30
years professional writing or put both periods in, no matter how
"right" it theoretically is. (Unless house style demanded it, of
course.)

Mnemonic for you: "separate" has got a "a rat" in it. It always used
to get me until I learned that.
