RE: FN-FORUM: Site check please

date posted 27th May 2007 11:06

David

It is always a risk putting things up for others to look at, and it was not
really unexpected.

The main purpose was to have it run in different browsers and get feedback
relating to that, since I do not have access to Macs or a Linux set up.

Since I am not a designer as those comments were not unexpected.
It was a rework rigidly to w3c standards, since my current contract has very
rigid requirements for conformity, which must always be met and I wanted to
see how it reacted under differing browser/os scenarios.

Just tests. Saw loads of different browsers look, but still don't know how
it appeared in them.

And I have noted your 'been destroyed' as you put it, but I take it all on
board.

For what it is worth I think your latest (tryagain-index-2.php) is cleaner
than earlier versions.

Is it sponsored or your own?

Best regards,

Dave

Hi David,

I've put site templates up and been destroyed.

When you ask for a site evaluation. don't get upset if it comes back less
than you expected, otherwise don't put it up there.

I think that as your using this to gain work it needs to be right in all
areas, remember, clients may not know that site design and site build are
two different areas, and that is very poorly designed. (I will not comment
on the coding)

So my advise (for what its worth), is get it right. If you honestly feel
this is right then leave it, I doubt you do feel that though? Unless this
was just an ego trip, and they are very dangerous things to take.

What ever you do I wish you all the best

David G)
