FN-FORUM: massive flash page problem
date posted 20th June 2007 10:05
Hallo to everybody!
It was a while since I needed help from this forum, and this time I can't
think of asking anywhere else...
For the company that I work at, I made WEB and Flash for
http://www.mtsmondo.com/gamezone/ by design layout made by a colleague of
mine.
I was trying to explain to my boss that such demanding design is not
actually for WEB, but everybody where so excited about the way it looked
that I finally did it with 90% match to original layout.
Everything is with a lot nested .swf because it is quite dynamic (in a
sense that every couple of week new games come and everything switches).
In few words, main pics under the header are 300-500Kb .png , some
backgrounds as well, some .swf loads 5-10Mb .flv and texts and .xml ...
All together, quite a mess, and they wanted it all on one page, openning
in the same time.
* THE PROBLEM *
...is that browser sometimes collapses when trying to open it. I couldn't
find any obvious error in ActionScript or some .swf , but problem exsits
(even if doesn't happen too often).
Could anyone suggest where to look for the source of the problem. Is it
possible that browser collapses only because of abnomrmally heavy page?
*
Thanks.
(specially to all that helped even before :))
