Fair point to take the contractor specs with a pinch of salt - they're =
often
written/interpreted by technically incompetent, commission-chasing =
morons!
When I contracted a few years back, it used to take the mick the number =
of
times I'd have idiot recruiters contacting me with Java positions =
(they'd
seen JavaScript on my CV!), or asking for 4 years' .NET experience in =
2004 -
.NET v1.0 wasn't released until 2002! ;)
The best way to escape the Catch-22 of limited commercial experience
applying technical skills is to learn and practice as much as possible =
on
your own time (doing cheap jobs for friends and family). Then focus on
engaging the interviewer with your enthusiasm, rather than worrying =
about
matching the spec rigidly.=20
It's amazing how much you pick up on the job once you're in!
Good luck, Ben
