RE: FN-FORUM: Access V Excel

Hello Andrew,
Sorry should have finished reading you email before I replied. In answer to
your question about multi-user access it does not need to be on a server at
all it could be on a peer to peer system but the key thing you have to do is
split the database so you have a backend and a front end to you access
application and you put the backend into a shared directory and put the
front end on the users machine.

Subject: FN-FORUM: Access V Excel
Does any have a preference for Access over Excel and main reasons why?
I've recently built a supplier DB in Access using Access Project Backend
MSSQL for sharing reasons, the only problem is only one person at a time
can access Access for writing data, which is the main reason I didn't want
to use Excel.
To have multi user write priv on Access would it have to be installed on
the server?
Andrew
PS. Anyone know of a really good advanced Access training course in the
Midlands?
PSS. Does anyone know how to retrieve deleted emails from outlook?
