RE: FN-FORUM: Fizy Design

date posted 28th June 2007 20:28

Hi Fizzah,

I'm sorry I've come so late into this - that's what comes of doing a lousy
day job, where I would rather be developing websites!

I can see what you mean - if I were in your shoes, I would probably feel the
same! But - I must agree with the comments about sincerity - I have been on
this forum for some months now, and found that everyone is very helpful and
sincere. It may seem direct and blunt at times, but it will be an honest
opinion.

I'm in two minds about your site - I can see what some people mean about the
Flash part; the header and top logo do take a lot of screen estate. I viewed
your site on a 19" flat screen, at a 1152 x 864 res - it still seems to take
a lot of screen estate. I would look to reduce this if you can at all; at
present, clients have to scroll down in order to view any of your pages.

However - there is one thing I do agree with the others: the music. Lose it
completely please! It is really irritating, and is a sure-fire way of
dropping potential clients who don't like listening to it. In a corporate
environment, it is unlikely you will see everybody being able to have
sounds, particularly if they are on corporate workstations. So - why have
it?

Moving on - the top logo: is there any reason for it being disjointed from
the rest of the text? It seems a little out of place, and maybe you might
want to see if you can rework the design so that it and the rest of the page
is a nice unified ensemble. Speaking of text - you mention that you have
shown screenshots? Or is what is available at present going to be the basis
for your design (i.e. a large image rather than text?). I come from an old
school way of thinking where I prefer to see CSS, HTML and divs used; at
present the images you have put up are not as clear as they could be, and
parts of the image come across as not being as good a quality JPG as they
could be. (It has the effect of being "Saved for Web" in Photoshop, but with
only about 50-60% quality...)

HTH,

Alex.
