FN-FORUM: My Moan for the day..

Hi All

As we are on a slightly similar topic here is my dilema! I am in the
middle of writing new courseware (and learning )for myself. As a freelance
trainer I don't get paid for this ..and I have no problen with this late
night work.

Later this year I will be delivering this for training companies on a
daily rate. My daily rate should reflect this work (creating lesson plans
and learning the S/w etc) but it rarely does. Here is what usually
happens. The training companies stick their own trainers (or other
freelancers) an my courses. Some are 'straight up' about it some are sly.
They watch and learn and upskill in no time from my training usually a
day. Of course because they did not have the cost (time/money) they now
compete with me, on price. So I'm effectively training my competition. I
can't dictate to the training companies which delegates should be on my
courses. If I raise my rates they will just get someone cheaper (and yes I
know below standard). For some conpanies Figures and Now are more
important than Brand Building.

Now! that feels a lot better..I've got that off my chest,where was that
queue for the grumpy old men!

Don't bother with this thread I was just having a rant.
