I'm not familiar enough with MySQL stored procedures to write one, and in
any case I'm not even sure the MySQL ODBC 3.51.17 driver will call them
anyway.

If you are running through code it may be you want to be using
SecurityElement.escape
That may be more useful than one-off replaces as it is then a general
solution.
