Re: FN-FORUM: External hard drive - how to stop "spin-down"?
date posted 23rd August 2007 12:15
Hi,
The hard drive seems to be Seagate, this is what SeaTools reports - ST33208=
20A.
As I wrote before, I received reply from Seagate re this and they
confirmed that they do not have software or firmware to avoid spinning
down of the above hard drive. They recommended that I search on Google
for 3rd party software.
I can assure you that this drive doesn't wait one hour until it spins
down, it is just few minutes.
Thanks anyway!
Jay
