What exactly happens when the connection is lost? Is the ME machine able to
communicate with other computers on the internal network? Can it ping the
router? (Steven Lavine)

I can still ping the router also I've had it happen where the browser (IE6)
has lost connection whilst I was at 50% of a download yet the download
continued and completed sucessfully. Similarly when the browser looses
connection sometimes I'm still able to ping sites via DOS other times pings
fail. I installed firefox thinking that IE6 was the problem yet Firefox
fails in the same way.
