I'm working for a large UK company (for only one more month) and have to
agree with their whitelisting policy, similar to BTs. When it has failed in
the past and despite having very strong security measures in place we
quickly get blacklisted for outgoing emails by the largest ISPs. Part of the
problem is logic errors in
constructing outgoing emails ...
Whatever ways we have been able to send emails in the past we will arrive at
a point of stronger authentication for email senders soon. "Tell a friend"
type emails will need new strategies.
Personally I'd prefer not to have to receive so much spam, and would happily
comply with new restrictions (in principle but the actual rules that might
be applied are still unknown and might be appalling).
