I create a folder under my own company website for their company and
put any designs there. I usually then do something like a thickbox
gallery or sometimes just a list of thumbnails with descriptions that
they can click to see a full-page image of the design.
I find having company-specific folders is also useful for two other
cases: first as a staging area if the company doesn't have one of
their own, so they can see the development right up to the point
where it goes live without affecting their live website and second
for cases where the company doesn't yet have a domain or website at
all. Of course you need to have a lot of web space available to do
this if you have a lot of customers.
One other thing I have done for bigger customers is to use
activeCollab as a collaboration environment. This is a free clone of
BaseCamp and it is so good that I have stopped using BaseCamp now in
favour of it. My customers like having somewhere they can share files
and messages and it is also good when I am collaborating with other
consultants on projects.
Hope this helps,
Ian.
