Confession time - although it is possible to download the free
version, I use the one-click install available at my hosting provider
(Dreamhost). I have installed it on my home network in the past and
it is a fairly straightforward process, but it is still nice to have
someone else set it up for me!
The other thing I like about activeCollab is its framework approach.
It is written in PHP but it uses a very similar backend folder
structure to RoR applications.
