We used to use Weblog Expert (search on Google) and it ran on the server or
locally. Running on the server is ideal as you can use the scheduler to have
reports done daily, hourly or whatever and placed into a folder on the
website so your customers, or you, can see the activity.

Also, why not try Google Analystics? We use it and it's great.
