it's okay if you don't use it on addresses subscribed to mailing
lists, or you find a way to manually whitelist messages from mailing
lists.
Otherwise, asking everyone that posts to a mailing list that you're
subscribed to, to sign up for your spam prevention measures will be
guaranteed to piss people off.
you're also adding traffic and acknowledging your existence to the
spammers (I'm sure they have developed a way to respond to requests to
"prove your a human" by now...
there are better ways.....
