I am still not sure about yell.com

I advertised in the book and have a listing on their site as well

However not one lead has come through via the site, even if you type in =
the
company name in Google, Yell I think are on the 10th page,

Yell checked out some company names and there is a client of mine who
appears in every directory and online in the UK, they told me they paid =
30k
a year just with yell, and again they are certainly seeing the return.

For the moment I have given up on paid advertising and instead am going =
to
invest in a good site, and as much free advertising links as possible, a
friend of mine pays a company =A3100 a month, and if you type in =
Architectural
illustration he is 3rd from bottom on the 1st page (UK only search in
Google), and thus gets a lot of calls from the web which more than pays =
for
the =A3100 a month,=20

I've had some sales calls from Yell trying to sell me an enhanced=20
listing on their search engine.

Being in the trade I asked the salesman to substantiate his claims=20
relating to traffic numbers with more detailed data, as well as data=20
on click-thru rates and user session tracking. He said he would email=20
this over, but (unsurprisingly) he just sent through the same yarn he=20
gave me on the phone.

So, has anyone on the list sign-up to Yell advertising? And, if so,=20
did you see any traffic from that source? And did any of it convert?
