Using MailScanner I have "low scoring spam" set at 4, and "high scoring
spam" set at 6. Low scoring spam is delivered with "{Spam?}" added to the
subject, high scoring spam is quarantined on the server for 31 days.
MailWatch then sends users a daily report listing all quarantined items:
this gives them the change to release messages and also shows the system
is working.
Of course the levels will vary depending on how many additional spam rules
you include, how safe against false positives you want to be, etc.
Best to leave it higher rather than lower, until you're confident you
aren't filtering out ham by mistake.
In my experience, 5 will occasionally catch ham, especially from people
using ALL CAPITALS subjects or other spam-like practices.
Cheers!
