I agree, tax is a necessary evil. But the point is that the taxman is a
brutal, unforgiving and at times unjust official. When we make errors we ge=
t
punative penalties, when they make an error which in this case is astoundin=
g
in its magnitude there is nothing more than an apology and the culprit is
given 24 hr police protection.
Try not paying your tax on time and apologising, see if they let you off.
