I agree but his internet explorer wont allow him to view web pages. Checking
the wireless router program it shows a connection between the pc and the
wireless router but no connection between the wireless router and the
internet.
If it was a problem with the wireless router then he wouldn't be able to
access the internet from his other PCs.

I would suggest taking a look at the wireless router setup (check for
proxies, mapped ports, etc).
From what you say, his PC is able to ping other machines and the router,
therefore he has an IP lease from a DHCP. This suggests his machine is set
up correctly for networking.
