mid afternoon when the circadian slump hits, have a short nap.

make sure you are on a low GI diet.
intake of high GI foods will cause a burst of energy (high blood
sugars) followed by a slump - which may cause drowsiness.
the objective is to even out the highs and lows so that they follow a
shallow wave.
watch out also for any foods that trigger sleepiness and avoid them.
I have a particular reaction to white breads bought from the
supermarket and containing "flour treatment agent" - I can't just have
one slice and after three or four my eyes won't stay open...
