Well then the client is wrong and needs LARTing. Opening up port 80 to
the public to allow private access is fundametally flawed, potentially
insecure and simply the wrong way to do it.

There are sometimes difficulties with certain routers and inability to
route the protocol used for VPN that make it impossible, but excepting
this there isn't a valid reason that I can think of for not solving the
problem properly.
