RE: FN-FORUM: problem with flash and IE7

Hi Vicki,
That sounds strange and im not sure it is related to flash, however the =
main ways to embed to ensure cross-browser compatibility are to the new=20
AC_FL_RunContent.js which replaces the common SWFObject - =
http://blog.deconcept.com/swfobject/ . The AC_FL_RunContent.js file is =
available with CS3 web studio and on the link below:=20
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/activecontent/articles/devletter.html
Kind regards=20

Subject: FN-FORUM: problem with flash and IE7
I recently made a change to the landing page of a website so that it=20
shows a short flash video (chosen randomly). Previously we had used=20
quicktime but the speed was too slow for some machines. I converted the=20
files to SWF using Flash Video Studio 2.0.
Someone using IE7 has now reported really peculiar behaviour. The video=20
plays. She then logs in as a member and leaves that page and then goes=20
to one of the articles pages (so two steps now from the original landing =
page) and then suddenly it returns to the landing page showing a video=20
again.
(In the normal navigation scheme it is not even possible for logged in=20
members to navigate back to that page unless they log out but she says=20
she remains logged in.)
I believe there are some known problems with IE7 and flash but am not=20
very experienced with flash and so do not know if this would be the=20
cause. Has anyone any notion of what might be going on?
This is the code I used (excuse the caps but it was generated by Flash=20
Video Studio):
$video will have a value such as vidpod1.swf.
Thanks,
Vicki (hoping this thread won't be hijacked by some l33t dood on teh=20
intarweb like my previous one.)
